Visual Studio 2010 Beta 1 released

If you’re an MSDN subscriber you now should have access to the download of Visual Studio 2010 Beta 1. For the first time Microsoft have made TFS available for an x64 platform (x86 still supported) which is good news as most servers are going 64 bit these days. The IDE of VS sports a WPF based interface which is probably nothing to get excited about (after all a developer should demand speed and stability above all else). There’s support for Silverlight 2 (& 3) out of the box and a lot of extra facilities in .NET 4 (re-engineered Workflow is one notable example) which I may pick out a topic or two in the coming weeks.

Enjoy the install – the Team Suite Beta 1 was painless, TFS rather less so (which is both unsurprising and disappointing given how onerous the previous versions were).
