One of the games that [with normal tools] just couldn’t be made to run on Windows XP (& Vista of course) was AMBER: Journeys Beyond. However an update from the online persona ‘SquirtTheCat’ earlier today means that’s all in the past now

Just spent an hour faffing around trying to get some WMA files on to my Sony Minidisc. SonicStage just kept telling me they were protected and transfers were not allowed. Turns out it was nothing more than the DirectShow filter provided by AC3Filter that was causing the pain. You can either uninstall it (I did as I can’t recall why I installed it in the 1st place) or configure the ‘usage priority’ so that other filters are used in preference.
I’m sure I’ll recall why I had installed it but for now it’s left the building and SonicStage is working once more!

Nope, it really isn’t a new Tex Murphy game but it is a game from the people behind Tex - Aaron Conners and Chris Jones! Although not much is currently known of Three Cards to Midnight, the release is scheduled for Nov ‘08
