There have been a few concerns over Google’s new browser with regards to user ‘privacy’. One particular problem is that they assign a unique id on installation and all subsequent actions can be tracked against this id. Microsoft got a lot of flak for a similar feature in Media Player so I’m [not] suprised there’s not been more made of this ‘feature’ in Chrome. Just spent an hour faffing around trying to get some WMA files on to my Sony Minidisc. SonicStage just kept telling me they were protected and transfers were not allowed. Turns out it was nothing more than the DirectShow filter provided by AC3Filter that was causing the pain. You can either uninstall it (I did as I can’t recall why I installed it in the 1st place) or configure the ‘usage priority’ so that other filters are used in preference.
I’m sure I’ll recall why I had installed it but for now it’s left the building and SonicStage is working once more!

I’ve added an OpenSearch provider to the site. Compatible browsers (Firefox 2 and Internet Explorer 7 for example) will allow the user to search the site from the browser’s search box thus providing better integration and improved user experience
